Well, you've read through the web page,and now you want to join, right? Well, beware the flying redfruit, and come on!

Before you go any further, let us warn you: you may have a substantial increase in email after joining Cibryen.  Its not unusual for us to produce 30+ emails. A day. Don't even ask about the weekend. Please, make sure you're willing to deal with this much email before you join us.

READ THE RULES!!!!! We can't stress this enough. If you do not read the rules, you will NOT be approved, period. We know if you haven't.

If you've never played in a Play By Email before, you should check out the PBEM guide we've written just for you.  It gives some tips for roleplaying, and outlines the cardinal rules.

That out of the way, on to the fun stuff.

Joining Cibryen Weyr in two....four....errrr, Eight Easy Steps

Update 07.12.2005 - Please re-read the steps to joining Cibryen Weyr, as thanks to some list trouble, we have changed our process somewhat.

  1. READ THE RULES. I've said it a million times, but this is NOT optional. These are the rules that you must follow to be a member of this club, and we know if you don't read them. So read them.
  2. We highly recommend that you read the guide. It contains important information about our timeline, club, and rules. We do have a separate page for rules, if you want to get right to that. We're not strict, but we have to have something.
  3. Read the Persona Writing Guide. It gives LOTS of helpful hints on making personae. Excellent for newbies and oldbies alike. We also include a list of personae NOT to create. No pranksters, ever.
  4. You need to decide whether you want to create a new persona, or adopt an existing one.
  5. If you decide to adopt, follow the directions as described on the persona sheet page.
  6. If you decide to create your own persona, all you need to do is fill out a persona sheet. If you need help, we have example persona sheets to guide you, or we're happy to help you ourselves. Once you've filled out your persona sheet (make it detailed!) submit it to the BoD at bod AT cibryen DOT com. Attach it to your email as a .txt file, not in the body of the email.
  7. Once your persona is submitted, send a subscription request to our email lists (click on the link above labeled "email list" to do so. You'll be approved and added to the list when your persona is approved. There are two, one for OOC, and one for RP.
  8. Once you've joined our email list, its time to join the fun! Bring your raincoats, or hide behind your dragon. You'll see why when you join us!
