Rules

1. Anne McCaffrey's characters are strictly off-limits.  You may not be related to any of them, use them, or roleplay meeting them. As far as our timeline is concerned, they DO NOT exist. None of the events of All the Weyrs of Pern have occured.
   
   
2. Benden Weyr and Ruatha Hold may not be used...they have been replaced in our timeline, and do not exist. Cibryen Weyr replaces Benden, and Ruabhainn Hold replaces Ruatha.
   
   
3. You may only use the five basic dragon colors: Gold, bronze, brown, blue, and green.  No whites, no sports, no reds, no way.   No ladies riding bronzes, no men riding golds. It doesn't happen.  Dragon-human pairings are as follows:
   
   ~Gold - Hetero female only
   ~Bronze - Hetero male only
   ~Brown - Hetero male only
   ~Blue - Hetero/Masculine Homo/Bi male, Homo/Bi female (rarely)
   ~Green - Feminine Homo male, Hetero female
   
   
4. We observe ALL major tenets of Pern...no religion, no Talents, ESP, magic or telepathy. The only "magic" is the mind-to-mind communication between rider and dragon. Pernese believe only in the human ability to overcome hardships, not gods or religions. 
   
   
5. HADs (Hearing all Dragons) is a very rare ability, and you can't just request it because you want it. We have two slots available, but you have to come up with a really good plot line for us to consider it. This issue is subject to a BoD vote.  And no goldriders will be HADs.  I don't care how well you write.
   
   
6. Firelizards must be earned. No new firelizards will be allowed with new personae: All MUST be Impressed.
   
   
7. No "posing".  This is using someone else's persona without permission.  Speaking for them, moving them, whatever. Ask first, and if they say no, deal with it. Folks are usually pretty accommodating, but they aren't required by any stretch. 
   
   
8. Ask permission before jumping in on posts. Some threads are closed, although they aren't always listed as such. Always ask the participants before you jump in, many plots are pre-planned, and by jumping in uninvited, you may ruin a plot.
   
   
9. Please use original names. You may not use any of the names from Anne's books, and try to avoid names from popular TV series, movies, or books. No joke names, and name your dragon well...they deserve respect. No names like "Megadeth" or "Puffeth".  All dragon names end in -th, and people and flit names never do.
   
   
10. All new personae must be approved by the BoD, using the Wavecrest Persona Sheet.  We don't want to see any other Weyr's sheets. Every weyr's sheet is different. Cibryen and Wavecrest have the same sheet, but if you are transferring a new character, make sure you are using the new universal sheet, not the old one. Please be descriptive. This is a writing club, and we're not interested in one-liners.  Be creative.
    
    
11. If you want your green or gold to rise, please let the BoD know so that they can approve it. You don't have to RP every green you have every time, either. Greens rise 2-3 times a year, and with 200+ greens in a weyr, that's a LOT of flights. Greens don't lay eggs.  They are sterile because they chew firestone. (That comes directly from Anne herself) Golds can't chew firestone...they just regurgitate a gray ash.  Remember Dragonsdawn?
    
    
12. Roleplaying is only allowed via email.  NO chat room or IM RPs...any member caught doing so will be put on probation, and caught again, will be asked to leave the weyr.  Online RPing can make us lose our approval.. We don't want that.
    
    
13. This is a PG-13 weyr.  You want to RP explicitly, go somewhere else. We don't want that here.  Period.  you can if you want, but take it private.  It will not be tolerated via the main RP list.
    
    
14. Hear All People (HAP) - No. Just--NO. You know who you are...
    
    
15. If you've read this, you're ready to Join.  To prove you've read the rules, just put "They don't stand a chance" at the beginning of your persona sheet when you submit it. That's to make sure you've read the rules first.
